Labosh Publishing is creating academic textbooks specifically for children with autism or development delays. Textbooks will cover mathematics, social studies, science, art and geography. Each textbook will contain the following features:

1. An overview of how the autistic mind perceives typical books.
2. A description of the physical, social and emotional impacts of autism on the teaching experience.
3. Instruction in the basic techniques used in Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) needed for use in the exercises in the textbook.
4. A set of reproducible data progress sheets to tract each student.
5. Instructions at the top of each data sheet detail the goal of the exercise, the physical layout of the items needed and what you should say to the student, and what to do if the student is correct or incorrect.
6. In the student’s textbook all pictures are photographs of single objects.
7. The pictures are removable and can double as a flashcard.
8. Each picture comes with a duplicate to be used in various exercises.
9. The pages are removable, so you can adapt the lesson to a particular child.
10. The pages and pictures are covered in a heavy laminate to withstand rough treatment.
11. The pictures are attached with Velcro and can be used elsewhere in the classroom.
12. Each textbooks targets specific language problems typical to children with autism.
13. The sentence structures are simple and repeated often. They model conversational exchanges.
14. The textbooks incorporate at least 15 different learning activities commonly found on Individualized Education Programs.
15. The textbooks are flexible enough to teach an entire autism class the same subject with each child working at his own level of cognitive development and meeting the goals laid out in his IEP.
